Monochromatic Color

I am calling this project, Whiteout because this photo was taken on our snow day at Sugarloaf. The subject is a landscape based off of the trees covered with snow. I chose to create this specific work because I wanted to show the trees disappearing into the snowy background and the cold feeling of skiing. I used a variety of techniques including high horizon line and rule of thirds. While creating this specific work I paid close attention to lining up the two horizon lines of the trees. wanted my work to look like two different photos and angles but to flow together as one and I did that by offsetting them to line up the tree tops. To add interest to my composition, I used unity by lining them up and matching the scenery. I like the way the photos were taken at different angles but when lined up, go together to make one composition and I am proud of my execution of the idea. however, I struggled with incorporating my main concentration into the composition. I never got around to taking a monochromatic photo with an old building in it which is my main concentration but still incorporated nature and snow which are the other aspects of my concentration. If I create another work like this I may take it on a sunny day to add more color, but that wouldn't be monochrome and I would try to incorporate my concentration into it. If I were to create another monochromatic photo I would definitely have it be a more interesting color other than white. My work shows that I am able to create a monochromatic photo.
