Geometric Shadows

I am calling this project "Workshop" because the photo was taken at the workshop down the road from me. The subject is an old shop door and some sort of fertilizer spreader for a tractor. The shadows in the photo are from the siding on the building and is based off of our assignment to incorporate geometric shadows into our concentration. I chose to create this specific work because the building had cool shadows on the side, and the door and machine add interest the photo. I used different techniques when creating this photo such as informal balance and leading line. When creating this composition I paid close attention to contrast and balancing out the subjects. I wanted my photo to look old and I did that by having and old building and farm equipment as the subjects. To add interest to my composition, I used contrast by making the building black and white and having the yellow tractor be in color and splitting up the two other photos. I like the way that the photos are arranged and how the yellow stands out and I like how the white borders each photo. However, I could have added more shadows into the other images. If I created another image like this, I would have taken a better image of the tractor because I didn't intend on using that image in this way so it is zoomed in a bit and could be at a better angle. My work shows that I can incorporate geometric shadows into my concentration.
