Complimentary Color

I am calling this project "Drip" because of the Elias' drip. The subject is a portrait based off of Elias' fit. I chose to create this specific work because I wanted to show Elias' personality. I used a variety of techniques including formal balance and layering. While creating this work, I paid close attention to centering his head in the frame and I did that by cropping the photo afterwards in editing. I wanted my artwork to look fun and goofy and I did that by having the subject be goofy and having bright colors. To add interest to my composition, I used pattern and texture by having the subject wearing clothing that has patterns and texture. I like the way that the smaller black and white photo looks next to the original and I am proud of the way I incorporated the colors into my concentration in a different way than you would expect based off my other photos which was what I struggled with. If I created another work like this I may have the subject be a building, to better fit my concentration of abandoned, old buildings. My work shows that I learned to incorporate complimentary color into my concentration.
