Minimalism

I am calling this project, Blue Sky because the majority of the photograph is occupied by the sky. The subject is a minimalistic photo based off of the power lines going to the white building. I chose to create this specific work because I wanted to show how man made objects interact and obstruct our views on nature and Earth. I used a variety of techniques including angle up, leading lines, and unity. While creating this work, I paid close attention to keeping it simple, but still having an interesting composition with stuff to look at. I did this by having a subject that isn't large and distracting, all it is, is two lines and a pole. I also added the siding for the background to incorporate my concentration into it. I wanted my work to clean and I did that by having only one main color and by using sharp focus. To add interest to my composition, I used pattern and texture by adding the siding in the back. I like the way that the wires connect and how that is a reoccurring theme in a few of my photographs. I am proud of the composition I came up with, not having an old building to photograph that isn't busy with trees and windows on and around it. If I create another work like this I may try to find a building in a field with blue sky, that way I can have a clean simple photograph that still incorporates my concentration. My work shows that I learned to make a minimalistic photograph including my concentration.
