Intro to 'Google Apps'.

In order to be able to work in the module lab, you will need to become familiar with how to use your Google 'apps' tools. The school has created a free 'Gmail' account for you that is a privilege for you to use. It is your responsibility to learn how to use this tool for completing school related assignments. This account is to only be used for school related assignments in an appropriate manner. You will be held responsible for EVERYTHING created and/or said with this account.

Mr. Watson & Mrs. Skelly can access all aspects of your account, anytime they need to!

You will be using this Google account for an increasing amount of assignment as you work your way through Griswold Middle School, so now is a great time to learn how to use it! You will be spending the first few days in the module lab completing a few simple assignments to gain some experience with these tools. Don't worry about your grade, or "getting it right". The important part of these lessons is to become familiar with these 'tools'.

Remember: Don't try to get the assignment done perfectly, experiment with HOW to get the assignment done.

Step 1- Log into the Computer & your 'Gmail'

You will need to be able to log-on to the schools network and your Gmail account. Listen to your teacher carefully, If you 'click ahead' of what they are telling you to do you're just going to slow everybody else down. If you have a problem logging in, just tell your teacher.

1-USE CTR+ALT+DEL to log onto the network ( use last name and first initial like "bensona" or "patarinis"

2-CLICK ON THE CHROME ICON

3-Fill out the WELCOME TO CHROME fields with your school Gmail username "lastnamefirst initial @rockyhillps.com" an enter your password

Step 2 - Check out your Bookmarks

Google Chrome is a great tool for you to use a student, because you don't have to 'keep track of it'. Once you have 'Chrome' setup as you like, it will 'follow you' from computer to computer. For example: Your school computers' 'look', settings, documents, and even 'apps' will be exactly the same as on the computer at home (if you have one), pod, or library.
