Abstract
The current leadership style at FCM (Faithful Companion Memorials) has had a negative impact on productivity and worker morale. Employees have developed poor attitudes, attendance has declined, and worker morale is at an all-time low. Many employees have attributed their limited engagement to workplace conditions and a lack of opportunity to provide input on key decisions that impact their workplace. This study used in-depth interviewing techniques to gather the opinions of FCM employees. A questionnaire was developed and emailed to some of the staff to determine who would be willing to participate. One-on-one in-person meetings were scheduled with those who were willing to participate and interviews were conducted. Their answers were documented and tracked in a spreadsheet. The results pointed to a need to boost employee morale and enhance organizational productivity by seeking to involve everyone in the process so that the entire organization forms its own conclusions cooperatively through discussion and collaboration. Finally, the results imply that all managers and leaders should receive training on participatory strategies in the workplace.
