Abstract
“Learning with Fun” is a project that believes that all preschool students that have different needs, are at different levels, and come from different cultures should have an equal opportunity to learn in a safe and healthy environment. Phoenix is a childcare facility that helps children in low-income families which means that these families are limited financially in their ability to provide materials that encourage their children’s development. These children need an opportunity to learn in a classroom that can support them with all the materials that the family cannot provide in order to improve their learning. The money from this grant will be used to build a block area that can be appropriate for the children in all areas of development. The block areas should promote problem-solving, social interaction, productive play, coordination and manipulation ability, literacy, science, social study, and physical development.
The Phoenix center believes in the NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND act, and that all children should be able to achieve the goals of their development level and be ready for their future. This project is based on many professional studies and follows the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct guidelines that shows the importance of the block area. Phoenix has the strategies needed to implement the project and the program works with the Creative Curriculum planning and the Teaching Strategy Gold (TSG) for the assessment. Therefore, Phoenix has the knowledge and vision to implement a developmentally beneficial block area with the resources provided by the grant.
