Abstract
This project will focus on the importance of art for children who are struggle with expressing their feelings. A preschool is a safe place where children can grow academically and develop their creative side. Teachers need to provide the necessary materials for them to explore and experiment with their artistic abilities. Children who cannot verbally express how they are feeling can express them with their hands by creating art. “Educators say encouraging children to test boundaries and explore their creativity through painting can give a real insight into youngster’s thoughts and feelings” (https://indyschild.com/byline/darian-reynolds-the-childrens-museum-of-indianapolis/).
Providing more opportunities for children to express themselves through art can help relieve some behavioral issues an individual might be having. Instead of controlling the behavior, allowing children to freely express themselves can help them be more in control of themselves. At Ready or Not Here We Come Preschool, staff need materials to expand the art selection. These materials will help out the art department for the children to explore in. With additional funding, staff will be able to allow the children to freely choose what they decide their creative side will be every day in the program.
