Abstract
For the preschoolers at Helping Hands preschool, being able to use the steps on the slide or ride a bike are very important. The three hundred children that attend the preschool are very diverse and include general education students, children with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other cognitive disabilities. There has been an increase in motor delays as well as a need for sensory integration. Project G.R.O.S.S. (Growth, Running, On the go, Skipping and Sensory integration) will help these children be successful in achieving the necessary milestones to be able to do the above-mentioned actions. A gross motor room would give the children the tools needed to enhance their skills with equipment for running, jumping, balance and riding a bike. It also will incorporate sensory motor activities. Project G.R.O.S.S. will give the school a gross motor room that would allow children a safe environment to use while at school and attending therapy sessions.
