Abstract
The need for free and affordable childcare is overwhelming in impoverished areas. The effects of not having free childcare available include children lacking proper nutrition, nurturing, and development. Many qualified families remain on a waiting list for an entire school year. It is the intent of the Learning and Laughing Center to obtain a grant for $300,000 to expand and open four new classrooms. Opening these classrooms will provide resources for families of over 100 children by helping these families gain access to free childcare. Children will receive meals and nurturing and developmental enrichment. Furthermore, the parents of these children will also benefit from the program. Parents will be able to continue their education and obtain employment while not being burdened with the high cost of childcare. This grant will ensure the Learning and Laughing Center the ability to purchase supplies for the classroom, pay salaries, and provide training to better assist the families that are served. This grant will impact many lives in positive way.
