Abstract
Project Science for Success (SFS) will provide high quality science instruction that supplements regular classroom curriculum. Many schools either lack the time to focus on science or lack the funding needed to perform various experiments. With the increase in focus on social-emotional development in Early Childhood programs, there has been a decreased focus on science instruction. SFS will meet this need by providing extra support for children in science through after-school instruction. The SFS after-school program will include planned instruction as well as time for free exploration of science materials. In order to fund this project, SFS is seeking $10,000 in funding for learning materials, books, and assessment materials. With this funding, SFS will be able to service sixteen children per day for everyday that the program is open. Children will also receive a snack or small meal when they attend the program. The local district will provide instructors for the program and reimburse science professionals. These professionals will be hired by SFS to ensure quality science instructors are available to the children.
