The default Combadge to be worn with all uniforms is the 2370s version. Some variation may be found depending on where you purchase your Combadge from, but it must be recognisable as this specific version of the device.
Only the standard size version is correct (approximately 5cm in height). Oversized and miniature replicas are not acceptable.
Electronic Combadges such as those designed to emit sound-effects are acceptable, provided they adhere to the requirements above.
SFI members may substitute the default Canon Combadge with an official SFI Combadge.
The SFI Combadge is customizable through the application of various collectible inserts. Any officially sanctioned inserts may be worn with the SFI Combadge as appropriate.
The SFI Combadge and inserts are available via the STARFLEET Quartermaster.
The Combadge is usually only worn with the following uniforms:
Although it may be worn with the Leisure Uniform (LU), this is not traditionally the case. It is not worn with the Combat Fatigues (BDU) or civilian clothing without express Command authorisation.
The Combadge is worn on the left breast, with the tip approximately 2cm from the bottom of the shoulder lining, and roughly half-way between the zip and the shoulder seam. You may need to adjust the positioning a bit to suit the shape of your body. The important thing is that the front of the Combadge must be facing directly forwards or tilted slightly upwards. If it's tilting downwards, you need to reposition it.
