360th Marine Strike Group

The 360th Marine Strike Group (aka the "Spirit Riders") is a detachment of The STARFLEET Marine Corps permanently stationed aboard the USS Dauntless. The 360th MSG falls under the 14th Brigade of the SFMC.

The Spirit Riders are a group of Dauntless crew-members who prefer a more formal, militaristic style of membership, with their own system of ranks and different uniforms. This unit operates in parallel to the ship’s normal functions and is designed for those who wish to take on an additional layer of engagement and responsibility while maintaining their regular positions and duties aboard the Dauntless.

The Marine Strike Group is not a separate department, and participation does not replace or override a crew member’s standard duties. It exists to enhance the experience of members who are looking for additional structure, challenge, and professional development within the STARFLEET framework.

Structure & Leadership

The Strike Group falls under the sponsorship of the Command Department and is led by two designated Duty Stations:

Officer in Charge (OIC)
Responsible for unit oversight, administration, and development. Reports to the Commanding Officer.
Deputy Officer in Charge (DOIC)
Assists the OIC in managing personnel, internal processes, and performance tracking.

These Duty Stations are appointed positions within the Dauntless chain of command and subject to all standard onboarding and performance review policies.

Membership Requirements

To be assigned to a Marine billet aboard the Dauntless, members must meet the following criteria:

Be an Active Duty member of the Dauntless crew.
Be a member of STARFLEET International in good standing.
Have selected either "Active" or "Reserve" in the STARFLEET Database under "Marine Affiliation"

Marine members are expected to meet the same performance and participation standards as all other Dauntless officers.

Uniform Guidelines

Marines aboard the Dauntless wear the standard Starfleet uniform corresponding to their branch of service:

Command: Red
Operations (Operations/Engineering/Security): Gold
Sciences: (Science/Medical): Blue

There are no special Marine uniform colours. Marine personnel wear their regular Starfleet uniform with:

Marine rank insignia in place of standard pips
Approved SFMC branch or unit insignia and collar brass (if applicable)
Full adherence to SFMC uniform guidelines, within the Dauntless uniform requirements

Uniformity and cohesion with Dauntless standards take precedence.

Function and Purpose

The Marine Strike Group is designed to provide additional structure for those who wish to engage with:

Tactical and strategic studies
Specialist qualifications or certifications
Physical fitness initiatives
Interdepartmental cooperation on simulated or theoretical operations
Leadership development within a military context

It is a tool for growth and engagement, not a vanity title or isolated subculture.
