Command is the department responsible for keeping the other departments together. They make sure that things are happening the way they are supposed to, they facilitate meetings and events, make decisions regarding the future of the ship and represent the ship to STARFLEET Command. The Command department is usually where the ship's highest-ranking officers will serve.
New members who have not yet chosen a Department to serve in, aka 'Recruits' are looked after by the Command Department, but they are not considered members of the Department. Recruits are, in effect, a separate group.
Only volunteer "Duty Station holders" can be assigned to the Command Department.
Among other things, the Command Department is responsible for:
Overseeing and facilitating all ship's activities;
Approving Mission Proposals
Chairing meetings
Organizing gaming activities
Representing STARFLEET Command to the Dauntless crew, and vice versa;
Administering personnel:

Managing the USS Dauntless brand
The Commanding Officer (CO) is the president of the USS Dauntless. Responsibility for all operational and policy matters finally rests on the shoulders of the CO, and the CO is authorised to delegate that responsibility to the various other Duty Stations.
The CO is one of two Duty Stations that are mandated by STARFLEET, and this position must always be filled by a member of SFI in good standing. This position may not be held by an Enlisted member.
Reporting: Submitting the Monthly Status Report (MSR) to STARFLEET Operations and the Regional Coordinator (RC) on or before the 5th of every calendar month.
Policy: Making all decisions on matters of Dauntless policy and operations that may have significant, long-lasting effects on the functioning of the ship.
Regional Representation: Voting in bi-annual elections for the Regional Coordinator.
Duty Roster: Editing, updating and publishing Duty Stations specifications.
Promotions: Approving or rejecting all rank promotions up to the rank of Commander.
Assignments: Approving or rejecting all personnel assignments (including Duty Stations and standard positions). This includes facilitation of the Induction Process for Duty Station candidates.
Brand supervision: Approving or rejecting all marketing material for the USS Dauntless prior to publication or distribution.
Moderation: Final editorial control for content of the USS Dauntless website, newsletter and other publication media.
Dispute resolution: Facilitation of dispute resolution between Dauntless crew-members.
Discipline: Allocating consequences of counterproductive crew activity, including reprimands, rank demotions and advancement exclusions.
Chair: Chairing of all official Dauntless meetings.
Officer of the Watch: Monitor Dauntless communications channels during convenient hours and take swift action should any inappropriate content be posted or other issues arise.
Fleet Operations: Colaborating and coordinating with Command communities within Region 8 and STARFLEET International.
Delegation: Performing any and all duties the Executive Officer is unable to perform.

The Executive Officer (XO) is the vice president of the USS Dauntless.

The Second Officer (SO) is the junior vice-president of the USS Dauntless.

Reserves command: Managing the "Reserves" contingent of the crew:
Logging participation;

Onboarding: Managing applications for new members and facilitating their joining of the crew by means of the Oboarding Protocol.
Recruits Management: Acting as the de-facto Department Head for Recruits (Active Duty members who have yet to select a Department to serve in)
New Member Orientation: Running Recruits through the New Recruit Orientation course.
Career counselling: Counselling Recruits on department and position selection, and arranging for assigning Recruits in consultation with the CO, XO and Department Head.
Extended Orientation: Managing the "Extended Orientation Program" for Recruits who have not chosen an assignment after the recommended waiting period has expired.
Roll Call: Maintaining open lines of communication with Recruits. This requires attempting to have at least one communications exchange with each Recruit per week. This may be in the form of a face-to-face meeting, a telephone conversation, an Instant Message conversation, an email exchange or anything of a similar nature.

The Officer in Charge (OIC) of the 360th Marine Strike Group commands all STARFLEET Marine Corps activity aboard the USS Dauntless. The OIC is responsible for maintaining unit readiness, coordinating with Dauntless departments, and ensuring that all Marines assigned to the unit are active, engaged, and operating within SFMC guidelines and expectations.
This position may be held by any STARFLEET Marine, regardless of Officer or Enlisted status, provided all listed qualifications are met. The OIC is the first link in the SFMC Chain of Command and is responsible for the overall functioning of the unit.
Although the 360th Marine Strike Group is not a department, the OIC is equivalent in status to a department head aboard the Dauntless.
Marine Operations: Plan and execute Marine-specific events, challenges, and training activities. Represent the MSG in Dauntless-wide events and coordinate with other departments where appropriate.
Unit Readiness: Maintain regular contact with all assigned Marines, monitor morale and participation, and encourage completion of MTC coursework. The OIC is also required to take a mentorship role in the Induction process for other Marines working towards Duty Stations aboard the USS Dauntless.
Reporting: Submit bimonthly unit activity reports via the SFMC Chain of Command, in accordance with SFMC protocols and Dauntless reporting schedules.
SFMC Liaison: Act as liaison between the 360th MSG and the SFMC Brigade Officer in Charge, ensuring compliance with all relevant procedures and participating in relevant discussions at the Brigade level.
Recognition & Awards: Track Marine achievements, recommend qualified members for SFMC and Dauntless awards, and contribute to annual Gallantry Award nominations.
Uniform & Identity: Uphold proper uniform standards for the unit, in collaboration with the Department of Operations and Dauntless Quartermaster. Oversee the unit’s heraldry, including motto and patch.
Delegation: Performing any and all duties the Deputy Officer in Charge is unable to perform.
Collaboration: Coordinate with the Science Department for Marine educational content, and Operations for challenge scheduling and cross-unit projects.

The Deputy Officer in Charge (DOIC) is second in command of the 360th Marine Strike Group. The DOIC supports the Officer in Charge (OIC) in managing all STARFLEET Marine Corps activity aboard the USS Dauntless. The Deputy Officer in Charge acts as a reserve for the Officer in Charge, stepping in to manage the unit when the OIC is unavailable.
This position may be held by any STARFLEET Marine, regardless of Officer or Enlisted status, provided all listed qualifications are met.
