Operations Department
Operations (Ops) is responsible for organisation and logistics. Whenever the crew is arranging a function (like a meeting, social event or Away Mission) the Ops team are responsible for making sure that the necessary people, equipment and supplies are in the right place at the right time. This can include arranging transport, ordering food or booking tickets.
This also includes making sure that all members have what they need to perform their duties, be it important information or uniforms.
Below are the volunteer "Duty Station" positions that fall under the Operations Department. Active members who don't wish to volunteer may request to be assigned to Operations as a "Standard position" with no duties allocated.

Activities
The principle activities of the Operations Department are, among other things:
Assisting the volunteer team with task management
Assisting volunteers with sourcing the tools and information they need to complete their duties;
Ensuring tasks are listed and updated on the Operations Board;
Following up with Duty Station holders and Mission Commanders on their outstanding tasks.
Guiding crew-members on obtaining uniforms and equipment:
Assisting crew on building uniforms, and certifying them when complete;
Creating guidelines on equipment sets, and assisting crew-members in their purchasing decisions.
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) is the Department Head for the Operations Department of the USS Dauntless. The Department Head acts as a communication conduit between the Command Department and the Operations Department.
The COO is responsible for ensuring that all volunteers have the resources they need in order to perform their respective duties.
This position may not be held by an Enlisted member.
Duties and Qualifications
Duties
Ops Station: Managing the Operations console for the USS Dauntless:
Ensuring that tasks on the board are assigned to, and completed by, the relevant Duty Station holders;
Providing guidance to other Duty Station holders on the correct procedures, protocols and formats to use when working on tasks;
Keeping the Operations console up-to-date.
Coordination Hub: Manage lines of communication between Departments to facilitate coordination on projects:
Establish Comm channels with all relevant stakeholders;
Ensure tasks are tracked and attended to on the Operations board;
Away Team Operations: Supervising Away Team Leaders and assisting them in coordinating their Away Missions.
Certification: In collaboration with the Science Dept, Training and assessing members of the Operations Department on Departmental orientation;
Departmental Supervision: Maintaining open lines of communication with members of the Operations Department. This requires attempting to have at least one communications exchange with each member of the Department per calendar month. This may be in the form of a face-to-face meeting, a telephone conversation, an Instant Message conversation, an email exchange or anything of a similar nature.
Reporting: Submitting Departmental Monthly Status Reports (DMSR) to the XO on or before the 3rd of each calendar month. This report must include information such as promotion nominations, award nominations, planned or past events when applicable, as well as the success or failure to contact members of the Department.
Officer of the Watch: Monitor Dauntless communications channels during convenient hours and take swift action should any inappropriate content be posted or other issues arise.
Logging: Write a regular column for the Crow's Nest.
Delegation: Performing any and all duties the Deputy Chief Operations Officer is unable to perform.

In order to be considered, the applicant must already be an active participant in a bare minimum of 30% of all USS Dauntless activities measured over a 3-month time-frame. This must include online and in-person activities, as well as monthly challenges. The applicant must also be an active user of Discord and Trello.

Privileges
Upon appointment, the station-holder is granted a conditional promotion to the grade of O-3 (Lieutenant/Marine Captain). After holding the position for 6 continuous months, the promotion becomes permanent.
Deputy Chief Operations Officer

The Deputy Chief Operations Officer (DCOO) is the Deputy Department Head for the Operations Department of the USS Dauntless. The Deputy Department Head acts as a reserve for the Department Head.
If held by an Enlisted member, use the title "Chief Operations Non-Commissioned Officer" (CONCO).

Privileges
Deputy Chief Operations Officer:
Upon appointment, the Deputy Chief Operations Officer is granted a conditional promotion to the grade of O-3 (Lieutenant/Marine Captain). After holding the position for 6 continuous months, the promotion becomes permanent.
When the COO position becomes vacant, the DCOO is automatically considered an applicant for the position, regardless of his/her qualifications.
Chief Operations Non-Commissioned Officer:
Upon appointment, the Chief Operations Non-Commissioned Officer is granted a conditional promotion to the grade of E-7 (Chief Petty Officer/Gunnery Sergeant). After holding the position for 6 continuous months, the promotion becomes permanent.
The Ship's Quartermaster is responsible for assisting the crew in obtaining and assembling uniforms.

Specifications: Maintaining a list of accepted uniform types. This list must be available to the crew upon request.
Acquisitions: Maintaining a list of vendors of materials and accessories for uniforms, along with approximate pricing. This list must be available to the crew upon request.
Stock: Whenever possible, keeping a stock of essential items available for crew-members to purchase.
Fleet Operations: Colaborating and coordinating with Quartermasters within Region 8 and STARFLEET International (STARFLEET Quartermaster).

Emergency Operations Hologram
A semi-automated Discord bot designed as a short-term supplement to the Operations Staff. Her capabilities vary based on current requirements, and she may be controlled by other members of the Senior Staff as needed.
