The Medical Department is responsible for managing Dauntless activities that relate to health and medical issues. This includes fitness challenges, blood drives, illness fundraising and other, similar events.
Below are the volunteer "Duty Station" positions that fall under the Medical Department. Active members who don't wish to volunteer may request to be assigned to Medical as a "Standard position" with no duties allocated.

The principle activities of the Medical Department are, among other things:
Scheduling and planning Blood Donation Missions.
Maintaining a list of blood banks and donor centers preferred by Away Teams.
Providing reminders and answering questions relating to blood donation and Blood Donation Missions
Running fitness-related activities
Fitness missions (5k runs, hikes, online fitness classes etc);
Operating the Fitness Challenge;
Administering the Physical Fitness Test.

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is the Department Head for the Medical Department of the USS Dauntless. The Department Head acts as a communication conduit between the Command Department and the Medical Department.
This position may not be held by an Enlisted member.
Medical Missions: Working with Away Team leaders scheduling and planning Blood Drives and Blood Donation Away Missions.
Maintaining a schedule of Blood Donation Away Missions undertaken by Away Teams, for purposes of scheduling future missions in accordance with safety standards employed by blood banks in respective Sectors.
Maintaining a list of blood banks and donor centres preferred by Away Teams.
Crew Health & Fitness:
Running Fitness-related Missions: Working with Away Team leaders with scheduling and planning missions such as weekend 5k runs, hikes or online fitness classes. Providing resources and advice to Team Leaders and individual crew-members on participating in such missions.
Operating the Dauntless Fitness Challenge: Providing a monthly report of all crew steps logged to by crew, announcing a winner, and forwarding the results to STARFLEET Medical for inclusion in Regional and 'FLEET-wide challenges as appropriate.
Administering the Physical Fitness Test: Receiving and processing logs of members attempting to complete the Test, and awarding certification accordingly.
Certification: In collaboration with the Science Dept, Training and assessing members of the Medical Department on Departmental orientation;
Departmental Supervision: Maintaining open lines of communication with all members of the Medical Department. This requires attempting to have at least one communications exchange with each member of the Department per calendar month. This may be in the form of a face-to-face meeting, a telephone conversation, an Instant Message conversation, an email exchange or anything of a similar nature.
Reporting: Submitting Departmental Monthly Status Reports (DMSR) to the XO on or before the 3rd of each calendar month. This report must include information such as promotion nominations, award nominations, planned or past events when applicable, as well as the success or failure to contact members of the Department.
Crow's Nest: Generating content for the internal video update series.
Delegation: Performing any and all duties the Deputy Chief Medical Officer is unable to perform.
Officer of the Watch: Monitor Dauntless communications channels during convenient hours and take swift action should any inappropriate content be posted or other issues arise.
Fleet Operations: Colaborating and coordinating with Medical communities within Region 8 and STARFLEET International (STARFLEET Medical).
Executive Officer
In order to be considered, the applicant must already be an active participant in a bare minimum of 50% of all Dauntless Medical activities measured over a 3-month time-frame. This must include online and in-person activities, as well as the monthly challenges. The applicant must also be an active user of Discord, Trello and Stridekick.
Required in order to qualify for application for position
Grade O-2 (Lieutenant (Junior Grade)/Second Lieutenant) or higher.

Required within 6 months of appointment to position
PD-100 certification (STARFLEET Marine Corps Academy)
Upon appointment, the Chief Medical Officer is granted a conditional promotion to the grade of O-3 (Lieutenant/Marine Captain). After holding the position for 6 continuous months, the promotion becomes permanent.
The Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO) is the Deputy Department Head for the Medical Department of the USS Dauntless. The Deputy Department Head acts as a reserve for the Department Head.
If held by an Enlisted member, use the title "Chief Medical Non-Commissioned Officer" (CMNCO).

Deputy Chief Medical Officer:
Upon appointment, the Deputy Chief Medical Officer is granted a conditional promotion to the grade of O-3 (Lieutenant/Marine Captain). After holding the position for 6 continuous months, the promotion becomes permanent.
When the CMO position becomes vacant, the DCMO is automatically considered an applicant for the position, regardless of his/her qualifications.
Chief Medical Non-Commissioned Officer:
Upon appointment, the Chief Medical Non-Commissioned Officer is granted a conditional promotion to the grade of E-7 (Chief Petty Officer/Gunnery Sergeant). After holding the position for 6 continuous months, the promotion becomes permanent.
