St. Teresa of Avila is proud to be “The Mindful School”. The benefits of mindfulness include improved self-regulation and overall well being.
Staff will continue to teach and promote mindfulness skills in a variety of settings; the classroom, in the gym, and during weekly Tiger Time sessions.
Classroom lessons have begun on a variety of topics such as negative vs positive self-talk, considering others perspectives, growth mindset, social filters and taking part in mindful activities in the Mindful Nest.

This month's focus will include a mindful nature walk in our community. We will begin with a breathing activity to calm our minds and bodies. Students are encouraged to use their senses to notice their surroundings; what do they see, hear, smell, feel while on the walk. At the end of our walk, students will use self-awareness skills to notice how their minds and bodies feel after spending time in nature.
