St. Teresa of Avila is proud to be “The Mindful School”. The benefits of mindfulness include improved self-regulation and well being.
Staff will continue to teach and promote mindfulness skills in the classroom, in the gym, and during weekly Tiger Time sessions.
Classroom lessons have begun on a variety of topics such as negative vs positive self-talk, considering others perspectives, growth mindset, social filters and taking part in mindful activities in the Mindful Nest.
Take a break from your daily tasks with our Mindful Moments series. This week let's move like animals to help us transition from one activity to another.

April Tiger Time
During the month of April, all classes had the opportunity to go outside for a mindful walk. During this time we talked about how spending time outdoors can change our mood. Take time to go for a walk together as a family and try to find some things in nature that you can see, hear, feel, smell & maybe finish up with a tasty treat!
Summer is coming and while that means backyard fun and lazy days in the sun for many folks, there are others already scratching their heads about childcare or just wondering about their child’s constructive use of time.
Young people need opportunities—outside of school—to learn and develop new skills and interests with other youth and adults. Summer is a great time to develop the *asset of constructive use of time whether that is with creative activities, youth programs, religious community, or time at home.
We’re here to help, so if you’re looking to check off a few of these assets this summer we’ve developed a list of VBS (Vacation Bible Schools) we’ve discovered in Red Deer & area. Click or call for registration forms, registration dates and contact information.
Contact your parish for information about volunteer opportunities for youth.
