St. Teresa of Avila is proud to be “The Mindful School”. The benefits of mindfulness include improved self-regulation and overall well being.
Staff will continue to teach and promote mindfulness skills in a variety of settings; the classroom, in the gym, and during weekly Tiger Time sessions.
Classroom lessons have begun on a variety of topics such as negative vs positive self-talk, considering others perspectives, growth mindset, social filters and taking part in mindful activities in the Mindful Nest.

January Tiger Time
During the month of January, all classes had the opportunity to go on a 'Mindful Walk' during Tiger Time. This was a time to explore, take in the nature around us, and focus on our breath.
We encourage you to get out as a family this month and 'Move Your Mood'. Please take a look under the 'Mindful Focus Tab' at the top of the page for ideas and activities to do together.
Family Day is Monday, February 21st so this might be the perfect day to get out and enjoy the beautiful scenery in our community!
Try noticing the world around you like this stone. At different times, in different circumstances and with different people, places and things we will feel differently and notice things differently. Mindfulness is noticing what we are when we are.
