2023 Farm To Table Project At Edison
Farm To Table Project Second Year
Edison Tech's Farm to Table project is a collaboration between the school's Carpentry students and city school district elementary schools, aimed at promoting sustainable living and healthy eating habits.
In this exciting project, Edison students utilized their design and fabrication skills to create raised garden boxes for RCSD elementary schools. The boxes will be used by students to grow various types of vegetables, which will be utilized both as a learning experience and a healthy lunch option.
The success of this project has prompted its continuation next year, with plans to supply more schools with the opportunity to grow sustainable gardens. The students at the project schools are enthusiastic about watching their vegetables sprout and thrive throughout the summer season, and they look forward to enjoying the fruits of their labor in and outside of the classroom.

Edison Tech's Farm to Table Project
Edison Tech Carpentry students have been working on a meaningful and sustainable project with School 45.
The Edison students helped to design and then fabricate all of the raised garden boxes for School 45. The elementary and middle school students will plant and grow all sorts of vegetables. Students will see these vegetables in and outside of the classroom as both a learning experience and healthy lunch option.
This project will be continued next year as we begin to supply more and more schools with the opportunity to grow a sustainable garden.
The students at School 45 are very excited to see their vegetables sprout, and continue to grow throughout the summer season.
