About Nije'e: Nije'e Patton Johns, a senior majoring in Psychology with minors in Korean language and Human Development and Family Studies, spent the spring of 2024 in Seoul, South Korea, through the Seoul CIEE: Arts and Sciences program. She studied at Yonsei University, one of Korea's top institutions, where she immersed herself in the Korean language and culture. Given her psychology background, this experience enriched her understanding of the Korean perspective, an area of particular interest. Nije'e found learning about different cultural viewpoints fascinating and engaging. During her time abroad, she explored the vibrant city life of Seoul and the serene beauty of Korea's countryside, including Gapyeong, Daegu, and Jeju Island. Inspired by her experiences, she has decided to become an education abroad peer adviser, aiming to support students in their study abroad journeys.
Advice to Prospective Education Abroad Students: Everyone should study abroad at least once in their college career. When you are away from everything you know, you undergo a transformation rich in understanding, growth, and independence. I know the study abroad application process may seem intimidating, but anyone can succeed with the right support system. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me. My goal is to make your study abroad experience pleasant and rewarding.
