K-2 October 26th: Grace For President

This week, we are learning about elections by reading a story about Grace. Grace is a student at Woodrow Wilson Elementary who decides to run for president after she learns that there has never been a girl president! She runs for president of her school, making campaign speeches and posters along the way, just like a real presidential candidate. Even though this story is pretend, it can still teach us a lot about how real elections work.

Make:

In the story, Grace makes campaign slogans and promises, just like a real candidate would. If you were running for president, what would you like to change? What would you promise to do? This week, try making up three promises, things you would do if you were president. Then, you can make a campaign poster or slogan!
