Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died on September 18, 2020. She was 87 years old and had served on the Supreme Court since 1993.

In a statement released by the Supreme Court, Chief Justice John Roberts said, "Our nation has lost a justice of historic stature. We at the Supreme Court have lost a cherished colleague. Today we mourn but with confidence that future generations will remember Ruth Bader Ginsburg as we know her, a tireless and resolute champion of justice."
