October 12: Thanking the Moon

Watch:

Every year in September or October, some families celebrate a holiday called the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival. This is a holiday celebrated by Chinese and other Asian families. It is a time for families to come together to give thanks. This year, the holiday was celebrated on October 1st. This week, we are reading a story about how one family celebrates this special day:

Make:

Imagine that you are going to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival. Draw a picture or write a story telling us what you would do, what you would eat, and what it would look and sound like. Remember to use lots of great detail, just like Grace Lin did in her drawings and writing in the story. You can share your stories and pictures and we might post them online! Email them to julie_seifert@psbma.org.
