The Women’s Revolution is a nonprofit organization, established to assist women in overcoming any challenges they face in society today, such as: abuse, inequality in the workplace and at school, homelessness, and many other things. They also assist women affected by natural disasters by helping them get back on their feet and lead productive lives. Founded in 2018 by Cheryl Staley-Bullock, the organization has been uplifting the lives of many women and children for around 4 years! The Women’s Revolution prides themselves in the advancement and uplifting of women, saying:
“Our vision is to eradicate economic disparity, creating a world where all women are valued, no women are abused, and all women are safe. Our Organization believes that the future of women should rest in the hands of women. We intend to achieve this by educating and empowering women to become captains of industry, fostering socio-economic growth.”
The Women’s Revolution has many programs and services, including The Women’s Revolution Minority Academic Scholarship, a homeless outreach program, and assistance with applying for public benefits such as Medicaid, WIC, and SNAP.
An interview with the founder, Cheryl Staley-Bullock:
Q: When did you begin your support group and what motivated you to form it?
A: I began my nonprofit organization in 2018 and I became motivated when I noticed how big of a problem this area has of women in need and the small number of organizations that are actually helping them.
Q: What was your initial purpose for the creation of the support group?
A: Our purpose is to help these women in any way possible and we try our best to do that every time the opportunity arises.
Q: After looking at the website, I noticed that there are so many different opportunities that come with this program, including an academic scholarship. How do you guys do it all?
A: Pray and take one day at a time. It always works out!!!
Q: Where do you see the group in five years?
A: In 5 years, I see my nonprofit organization having a transition home for these women and kids.
Q: How can PSA students and family get involved with your group?
A: By following us on Facebook and sharing our posts so that more people are aware of our efforts and outreach.
