Recently, PSA welcomed Mrs. Chole McDaniels, the new Spanish 1 teacher. An interview took place to get to know her better. Here are the questions and her answers!


Interviewer: What are your preferred pronouns?


McDaniels: She/Her but not opposed to They/Them


Interviewer: How long have you been teaching and where? What made you become a teacher?


McDaniels: I was a teacher cadet in high school and there was this one student who was in ESL. I would watch the teacher help the student and became interested in the process she went through.


Interviewer: Have you ever done anything else and if so what was it?


McDaniels: When I was younger, I wanted to be a baker.


Interviewer: Any teachers within your family and if so, who?


McDaniels: My mom, husband, and in-laws


Interviewer: What do you want your students to know before the end of the year?


McDaniels: I wanted them to develop a love/interest in languages.


Interviewer: What are your hobbies?


McDaniels: Oh, Taking care of my daughter. She’s a full time job.


Interviewer: What is your favorite memory?


McDaniels: When I studied abroad in Spain.


Interviewer: What do you enjoy about teaching?


McDaniels: Building relationships with students and mentoring.


Interviewer: How do you like PSA so far?


McDaniels: I love it. The students are amazing, staff is welcoming and I feel safe here.
