Ms. Bishop is a middle school teacher in the Heracles hallway. I asked her a few questions about her hobbies, wishes, and teaching! The first question I asked was how long have you been teaching and where. She had been teaching for 16 years, and she taught K-12, and preschool, all in SC within low country leadership. As well as teaching in a private school for a few years and then in North Carolina. The second question I asked was what made her become a teacher. Ms. Bishop answered with something that surprised me, she actually didn't want to be a teacher at all, she wanted to do something within biology. Although she didn't find a passion for teaching she felt lost within her bio major, so she thought why not become a teacher, her mother was a teacher, so she became a science teacher. The third question I asked was what are your hobbies. She said she loved baseball, especially the Braves, playing fantasy football with her friends, and the beach. Her dream travel destination would be Italy or Thailand. What interests her about Thailand is the Son Doong Cave, she told me she'd love to visit at least once! The last question I asked was what would you want to tell your students at the end of the year. With her 9th year teaching middle school, she said she wants to prepare them for life outside the classroom, that you don't need to know everything all the time. You also need to use your resources and do your best for school.
