Grammy Predictions
So, as some may know already, the Grammys this year were on the 3rd of April. Here were some of my predictions (and picks) for this year’s nominees.
Record Of The Year (Nominees)
“I Still Have Faith In You” (ABBA)
“Freedom” (Jon Batiste)
“I Get A Kick Out Of You” (Tony Bennet & Lady Gaga)
“Peaches” (Justin Beiber)
“Right On Time” (Brandi Carlile)
“Kiss Me More” (Doja Cat & SZA)
“Happier Than Ever” (Billie Eilish)
“Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” (Lil Nas X)
“drivers license” (Olivia Rodrigo)
“Leave The Door Open” (Silk Sonic)
On this topic, I think “drivers license“ will win. This is because it’s had the biggest impact on the charts, and on streams. My personal choice for this is between “Kiss Me More” and “Happier Than Ever.” I think “Kiss Me More” also has a good chance at winning since it’s safe to say it’s the 2nd most successful song. Either way, all of these songs are amazing and deserved the nomination.
Album Of The Year
We Are (Jon Batiste)
Love For Sale (Tommy Bennet & Lady Gaga)
Justice (Justin Beiber)
Planet Her (Doja Cat)
Happier Than Ever (Billie Eilish)
Back Of My Mind (H.E.R.)
Montero (Lil Nas X)
Sour (Olivia Rodrigo)
Evermore (Taylor Swift)
Donda (Kanye West)
Now this subject, in specific, I’m very divided on in both ways. I believe Planet Her deserves the grammy, hands down, but I think that the actual winner is probably between Sour, Justice and Planet Her. Taylor Swift won Album Of The Year last year, so I doubt she’ll win it again this year, even though that album’s amazing.
Best Pop Vocal Album
Justice (Justin Beiber)
Planet Her (Doja Cat)
Happier Than Ever (Billie Eilish)
Positions (Ariana Grande)
Sour (Olivia Rodrigo)
I think for sure Sour will win. Olivia’s done so much this year, broken so many records, and it’s only her first year. My personal choice is between Happier Than Ever and Positions, both are so good, I can’t pick one to like more.
Those were my Grammy predictions. Here’s what actually happened. The Record Of The Year award went to Kiss Me More, by Doja Cat and SZA. I am very, very happy for them! They totally deserved it. The Album Of The Year winner was We Are by Jon Batiste. It’s a good album, but I think there were others that deserved the award more. The Best Pop Vocal Album award went to Sour by Olivia Rodrigo. While I'm happy for her, I believe that Ariana deserved the award so much more.
