Course Assessment:
This includes a Course Assessment Task which is 20% of the final award. This task is completed in exam conditions to a time limit of 1 Hour.
Candidates will also sit a 2-hour 20-minute SQA exam which accounts for the other 80% of the final award.
Course Details
Pupils will develop skills in knowledge and understanding of contemporary political and social issues in local, Scottish, United Kingdom and international contexts. Candidates develop the skills to interpret and participate in the social and political processes they will encounter in their lives.
Particular focus is given to the skills of describing and explaining as candidates demonstrate their knowledge and understanding. In handling information, candidates are expected to demonstrate abilities in drawing conclusions, objectivity and using evidence to support decisions
