Course Details
Higher- courses carry on naturally from National 5, and many students have already shown evidence of National 5 > Higher- potential in their earlier work and achievements. Your teacher will be able to recommend the best route of progression for you in S4, S5 and/or S6.
In following first the National 5- and then the Higher- course, you will expand and extend your language skills, and gain confidence to communicate in the foreign language. National 5 / Higher classes offer you the opportunity to improve all your language skills and your understanding of language and culture of the foreign country in a smaller class group.
An award at Higher-level is an impressive achievement. It proves that you can use another language independently and confidently. It is a sought-after qualification for a wide range of occupations, where employers place great emphasis on communication, linguistic skills and a strong work ethic - as required in language learning. Many interesting areas of employment now request competence in at least one foreign language.
