NPA Acting and Performance Level 6

The SQA NPA Acting and Performance (SCQF Level 6) develops practical acting, voice, movement, and stagecraft skills while building learners’ understanding of professional theatre through rehearsal, performance, and analysis of live productions

Mandatory Units include:

· Drama: Theatre Skills in Performance – focusing on stagecraft, rehearsal, character development, and live performance to an audience.

· Professional Theatre in Context – exploring and analysing contrasting professional productions and examining the work of the full production team.

· Assessment is continuous, based on practical performance work, rehearsal evidence, and written essays and evaluation. There is no external exam.

To achieve success in this course, students should have minimum level 5 literacy skills, excellent attendance, effective group work skills and the ability to work independently.
