Course Assessment:

This includes a Writing Assignment which is completed under exam conditions and is externally assessed by the SQA and is worth 12.5% of the overall grade. Talking Finals will be conducted 1-to-1 with your teacher on behalf of the SQA (25%). Candidates also complete an SQA exam at the end of the course, this is worth 62.5% of the overall grade. The exam consists of two SQA papers of 1 hour 30 minutes (Writing + Reading) as well as 30 minutes (Listening).

Course Details

This course follows on from French / German in Broad General Education S1 – S3. Pupils will study a range of topics and advance their skills through listening, reading, talking and writing in preparation for their N5 Writing Assignment, N5 Talking Finals and their National 5 SQA exam. Your S3 teacher will advise if this route would be appropriate to ensure best progression in your Modern Language in S4.
