Course Assessment:
This includes a Course Assessment Task which is 27% of the final award. This task is completed in exam conditions to a time limit of 1 Hour 30 minutes.
Candidates will also sit two (1 hour 45 minutes and 1 hour 15 minutes) SQA exam papers which accounts for the other 73% of the final award.
Course Details
Pupils will develop skills in knowledge and understanding of contemporary political and social issues in local, Scottish, United Kingdom and international contexts. Candidates develop the skills to interpret and participate in the social and political processes they will encounter in their lives.
Particular focus is given to the skills of describing, explaining, analyzing and evaluating as candidates demonstrate their knowledge and understanding by writing essays. In handling information, candidates are expected to demonstrate abilities in drawing conclusions, objectivity and using evidence to support decisions.
