High School Graduation Requirements

Panyaden International School offers 4 pathways to graduation:

  1. Full IB Diploma

  2. Full IB Diploma + Panyaden High School Diploma

  3. IB Certificates + Panyaden High School Diploma

  4. Panyaden High School Diploma

Either the IB Diploma or the Panyaden High School Diploma (or both) will allow students to successfully move on to college/university study. In order to receive an IB Diploma, students must satisfy all of the requirements of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). The full requirements are detailed in the PYD IBDP Handbook. While Panyaden will make predictions of students’ likely success/failure, the ultimate determination of successful completion of an IB Diploma is in the hands of the IBO. The Panyaden High School Diploma is determined and awarded by Panyaden, based upon our accreditation from WASC. The requirements for a Panyaden High School Diploma are as follows, usually earned over 4 years:

  • 8 credits of English

  • 7 credits of Mathematics

  • 7 credits of World Languages

  • 7 credits of Science

  • 6 credits of Social Studies

  • 3 credits of Physical Education

One credit is earned each term (2 credits per year).

In addition, students must:

  • Complete all requirements of the Pre-CAS (Year 10-11) and CAS (Year 12-13) programmes.

  • Minimum 90% attendance in the overall course over Year 12 and Year 13 and minimum 80% attendance of the overall high school course.

CREDIT RECOVERY

For students who wish to earn a Panyaden High School Diploma but are not on track to fulfil the credit requirements, Panyaden offers a credit recovery program through an external partner. The determination of which credits must be recovered in order to receive the Panyaden High School Diploma will be determined by Panyaden in consultation with the family.
