Personal Device Expectations

Use

  • As a family, discuss device use and talk about the device and how it supports learning at school. Understanding any expectations or rules they have at home regarding technology is essential.


  • Charging the device each night. An uncharged device means students are not ready to participate in learning. In addition, students should bring charging cables to school each day to avoid being left with an uncharged device at any point of the school day.


  • Use devices at the right times. Teachers will indicate when the device is needed during class. Secondary students can use their devices during designated times and supervised space and work on school-related tasks.


  • Use devices for the right purposes. All content must be appropriate and enhance learning. Violent or inappropriate content is never acceptable at school.

Care

  • Care for devices. Students are recommended to keep their devices in a protective and water-repellent sleeve in their bag when transporting between classes or when travelling between home and school. During breaks, devices should securely
