Dear Parent/Carer,

As we come to the end of another busy term at Onslow St Audrey’s School, I am so pleased and proud of all the initiatives that are celebrated in the news stories below.  Please scroll down to read about the highlights of the spring term 2023.

We have maintained a high pace right through to the Easter holidays with a number of events taking place this week. I was honoured to welcome Lord and Lady Salisbury of Hatfield House to OSA on Monday to discuss their generous offer of support for careers provision at OSA.  On Tuesday, we welcomed an Ofsted inspector who reviewed the small group tuition programme that is currently in place to support students’ academic progress; I am grateful to Miss Ring, Assistant Headteacher, for leading the tutoring programme and the review so successfully.  On Wednesday, a visitor from HfL Education came to review provision for SEND students at OSA, identifying many areas of excellent practice along with useful pointers for improvement.  Years 7 to 10 were treated to a showcase of amazing performances in “OSA’s Got Talent” on Wednesday morning, ably organised by Miss Mussellwhite and the Sixth Form Business students.  It was great to see so many Year 7 parents for parent consultations on Wednesday afternoon.  Finally, after a postponement from just before Christmas due to the weather, the Sixth Form v. staff football match took place yesterday afternoon and students will enjoy the match’s highlights in their end-of-term form time during period 3 today.

We are saying goodbye to three valued colleagues today: Miss Balls, Miss Clutterbuck and Mrs Hassouna.  I would like to thank them all for their service to the OSA community and wish them well in their new ventures.

I would also like to confirm arrangements for pastoral support and contact when we return after Easter.  I am very grateful to our Year Managers - Miss Ashall, Mrs Fisher and Mrs Mountford - for taking on additional responsibilities in the summer term, and would also like to welcome Mr McIntytre to the pastoral support team:

After Easter, we are moving our breakfast club provision to the canteen due to growing student numbers. We currently offer free breakfast every morning at Onslow St Audrey’s School and this is available to all students, including those not eligible for free school meals.  Our breakfast club will start at 8.20am every day and will take place in the canteen. If your child wishes to attend, please encourage them to arrive from 8.20am and not before. All breakfast items, excluding hot chocolate and waffles, are available free of charge and we welcome all students to attend.  Our main items include a selection of cereal, bagels, fruit, tea and coffee.
