On 3rd June, 60 students from OSA participated in this remarkable event, designed to provide a comprehensive insight into University life and academic opportunities.
The 'Pathfinder' Day began with a warm welcome from the University staff, setting the tone for a day filled with exploration and learning. Our students embarked on a guided tour of the expansive campus, visiting state-of-the-art lecture halls, libraries, sports facilities, and student accommodations.
During lunch, our students had the chance to network with current university students and staff. This informal interaction provided valuable insights into university life, allowing our students to ask questions and learn from those already immersed in the university experience.
The afternoon workshops were particularly beneficial, focusing on essential skills for university success, including time management, research techniques, and exam preparation. These sessions equipped our students with practical tools that will be invaluable in their future academic pursuits.
The day concluded with each group giving a presentation about university life, course options, application processes, and financial aid. The responses from the university staff were thorough and encouraging, further motivating our students to consider higher education as a viable and exciting pathway.
Feedback from our students was overwhelmingly positive. Many expressed how the 'Pathfinder' Day demystified the concept of university life and made them more enthusiastic about pursuing higher education. The friendliness and helpfulness of the university staff, coupled with the impressive facilities, left a lasting impression on our students.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the University of Hertfordshire for hosting such an impactful and well-organised event. This experience has not only broadened our students' horizons but also inspired many to seriously consider their future academic and career paths.
