As part of STEM week on 15th March, two Year 8 teams from OSA became real-life engineers for a day where they researched, designed and built a solution to a real engineering problem as part of the Institute of Engineering and Technology Faraday Challenge Day at St Clement Danes School.
Six teams of six students from three schools, competed against one another to see who could design, create and promote the best solution to the given challenge. The challenge was based on a genuine, real-life engineering problem. The day enabled students to understand a variety of design, science and engineering principles and also encouraged teamwork, leadership and problem-solving skills.
The event was a fantastic way to inspire and excite students' interest in STEM and to demonstrate the practical application of mathematics and engineering.
Both OSA teams competed and presented their ideas with the utmost professionalism. A fantastic effort from all involved, well done!
