Dear Parent/Carer,
As we approach the half-term break, there are yet again so many talented students’ successes to celebrate. The recent achievements of Onslow St Audrey’s sports teams across a wide range of disciplines are particularly impressive and you will read more about individual and team successes below. Congratulations to all students who have continued to accumulate achievement points throughout the half-term. Heads of Year and Year Managers have enjoyed marking the specific achievements of their year groups through reward trips and pizza lunches.
The importance of good teaching and learning has been very much in the spotlight recently with industrial action by NEU members taking place across the country. I am grateful to OSA teachers who are taking industrial action to highlight the issue of teacher pay and its vital importance to the recruitment and retention of high-quality teachers directly with the government. I am also grateful to all staff who are working to provide meaningful education for students throughout this period of action. Year 11’s engagement with the post-mock intervention programme has been strong and I would encourage each and every student to make the most of the support on offer, alongside working to fill their reward passes.
I would like to remind students in all year groups that our drive on punctuality to lessons and correct uniform will continue after half-term. It is important that students adhere to our high expectations in these areas to make the most of every minute of lesson time.
With all good wishes to you and your families for a restful half-term break.

Headteacher
