Campaigns and Activities

Winifred has worked on the In donor Refugee Spending Campaign since joining ONE, where she engaged students at her school to write their MPs.

Why do you want to volunteer with ONE?

As a highly skilled policy, program, and communication strategist with over 5 years of experience in youth project implementation, media, and communications, my decision to campaign with ONE is because of my burning desire to make development happen, contribute to the fight against extreme poverty, preventable diseases, participate in global social impact and policymaking dialogues. Personally, this opportunity will boost my community engagement skills and capacity, offer me an inspiring platform to learn, network/collaborate with dynamic global community of young people and brightest minds working towards different social impacts and sustainable change.

Coming from a developing country like Nigeria, my desire of implementing developmental projects and tackling emerging hunger issues, diseases, climate, and environmental issues is evident in my previous academic trainings and my work experiences. I am hoping to bring to bear the different experiences gained, whilst working in the development sector, with a huge exposure to different forms of project processes, as part of my contribution during the campaigns. This will lead to an enhancement of teamwork skills building. My extensive experience as a programs officer for different projects at work, could be drawn upon, to assist in the articulation of different ideas with other participants.

Hobbies and Interests

She loves community works, reading and sharing her experience.
