About Comfort
Comfort is a detailed-oriented and emphathetic customer relations officer with years of experience in the retail and telecommunications industry providing exemplary customer support and ensuring customer satisfaction. She has been involved in organising program events,short courses and seminars for top government policy makers who were participants at the National Institutute for policy and strategic studies kuru,plateau-Nigeria. In 2009, Comfort mobilised and facilitated a project in a community in Plateau-Nigeria,that impacted the education of children in that community.
Her desire to give back to the society and to make a positive impact on the lives of people is what drives her to campaign for ONE.
Currently, Comfort is studying MA International Relations at the Leeds Beckett University.
Campaigns and Activities
Comfort has been involved in the development sector for a long time back home in Nigeria worjing with non-profits and supporting local schools through fundraising for their activities. In 2010, she won an award during her NYSC close out for her works in supporting schools with benches and other school equipment to help school retention and provide an enabling ground for learning.
She has also worked with Ka-Awambe, a social enterprise working to provide alternative menstrual products for women and girls living in underserved communities in Northern Nigeria. She has supported other activities - and campaigned against sexual exploitation in displacement setting, and human rights in Minna, Nigeria.
Why do you want to volunteer with ONE?
As an International development student, and an advocate of human rights, ONE is positioned in a way to help me learn how to advocate better and drive change, but also provide a space for me to voice out concerns I have about social issues, and do something about it.
Hobbies and Interests
Comfort likes travelling/meeting people, planning events and cooking. She is interested in community development, charity work and researching.
