About Jumoke

My name is Jumoke Jeje, a trained lawyer and an advocate for social justice and a deep commitment to volunteerism.

Being a lawyer, I've developed my abilities to comprehend and work within complicated legal frameworks, giving me the skills I need to fight for social justice concerns. My experience in the field of development has been both rewarding and enlightening. I actively offer my time and skills to a variety of projects that seek to build a more just and equal world. I'm always eager to help bring about significant change, whether it is through working on legal aid programmes, standing out for underrepresented communities, or lending my voice to raise awareness on issues that affect women and girls. I am currently working with the Young Women Trust influencing and planning group to advocate for the rights of women in the workplace.

Through my experiences, I have grown to understand the value of resource mobilisation and the strength of collaboration in tackling urgent societal concerns. I am devoted to doing my part to help ensure that everyone has access to justice and equality  because I genuinely think that it is a fundamental human right.

In my spare time, I like to keep up with current affairs, travel, and learn about various cultures. I also appreciate discovering new and creative ways to solve societal problems. In order to make a positive difference in the world, I'm eager to collaborate with groups and individuals who share my passion for social justice. We can build a more promising and just future for everyone by working together.

Campaigns and Activities

Since joining ONE, Jumoke has engaged her community in Sheffield about the In donor spending refugee campaign. Her action prompted her colleagues at work to write to the MP about the asks for the campaign.

In the past, she has volunteered with non-profits organisation working on gender equality and health.

Why do you want to volunteer with ONE?

ONE  is an international organisation that campaigns for policy changes to reform public policies in order to eradicate extreme poverty and curable diseases. I want to join ONE as a community leader with a focus on education so that I can actively promote policies that support education and empower marginalised communities. Also, because ONE community leaders have the chance to interact with like-minded people and organisations pursuing comparable objectives, I wish to campaign with ONE. Through collaboration, resource sharing, and learning from others, this network can help me have a greater influence as an advocate for education. Finally, assuming a leadership position as a ONE community leader will help me in honing a variety of skills, including advocacy, organisation, and communication. Campaigning with ONE provides chances for personal development, including coordinating community events, engaging with local media, attending training, and representing ONE at events.
