Aleksandar Stamboliyski was one of the most important Bulgarian politicians. He was part of the Bulgarian Agrarian Union. By developing the industry and the infrastructure of the country he revived the economy of Bulgaria. He opposed the participation of Bulgaria in WWI and its support for the Central Powers (Germany, Italy and Austro-Hungary). Aleksandar Stamboliyski was a prime minister from 1919 to 1923. Also he was the one to sign the treaty by which our coutry exited the Great War. Then in frustration he broke the pen. A few days later after a rebellion he was assassinated in his house, which is near Pazardzhik.
