During their first day in Pazardzhik students from Belgium, Germany, Portugal, Finland and Bulgaria leaned how Communism started back in 1944 and what everyday life was like in the period between 1944 - 1989.
Project participants explored and experienced Pazardzhik through an interactive tour created by Bulgarian students.
During their communist tour students made vlogs about the places they went to and in what way they were related to Communism.
Entering the Red Flat means travelling back in time to Communist Bulgaria of the 1980’s. By visiting the home of an average family you will discover what everyday life was like for ordinary Bulgarians during the Cold War. Work and leisure, school and vacation, eating, drinking, watching TV, partying and doing the chores – how did these things happen in the days of Reagan and Gorbachev?
In international groups students presented a historical figure from the past explaining in what way they relate to that person and why he/she inspired them. This game is the first step to creating a historical figure card game as a final product of the project.
Students solved puzzles to take them to different destinations in Plovdiv which had connection to our communist past.
Using all the information they learned throughout the week students designed their virtual escape rooms.
