I am fortunate in having had the experience of teaching at Kodaikanal International School, the University of Macau, the Macau Institute of Management, International School Manila, and Hong Kong International School before moving to OES with my wife, retired Lower School teacher Asha Sathyaraj. I see the Religion program at OES to be among the defining characteristics that distinguish us from other schools, providing opportunities for students to engage in critical study and deep reflection. Before my current role, I enjoyed teaching and developing new courses in the English and History Departments, benefitting from their expertise and rich interdisciplinary perspectives. I am thrilled to share with students the story of human experience as it unfolds through cultures and traditions, as I am also thrilled with the privilege of pausing each week to gather in contemplative practice in chapel. I enjoy music, especially singing with the Oregon Repertory Singers, and sometimes I entice my students to experience this joy by singing together.
