Understanding Behavior

We often look at and make assumptions about the "tip of the iceberg," or what we can observe/see; but when supporting children who are exhibiting behaviors we find challenging, confusing, or uncomfortable, in order to fully understand the behaviors we must look at anything that could be potentially underlying the behaviors, as shown in the image above.
