"Secure Drill" on 10/26/23 at 1:55
Please practice these drills with your students and have them become familiar with the language
2023 District Safety Slides Slides 23 and 36 have videos of these drills for you to share with your students
All specialist teachers, MLL, SPED, Improvement teachers, SEL, WIN groups... practice drills with your groups of students so that in the event of a real emergency or drill during your time-students will know what to do
Next week we will be working on entering student data in Continuum. During those meetings in addition to helping Sheila and I will share the names of students we are tracking for SRBI for your grade level for our next round of improvement. These are students who are 20% or below on NWEA or in the red on DIBELS for words read accurately on ORF. For math, these will be students who are 20% or below on NWEA. If you have additional students that you feel would benefit from SRBI, please fill out Form A and we will set up a separate meeting time with you to discuss your student.
As always, thank you for everything you do! Best, Colleen and Sheila

2023-24 OTUS Handbook ELA and Math assessments are required to be completed on OTUS for grades 2-5. The district has provided us with a OTUS Handbook to guide us in assigning assessments, accomodations available and grading process. We will be presenting some of these features at an upcoming Staff Meeting.
Math Vocabulary Cards At a recent training, I was reminded of an excellent resource from Granite School District, which provides us with Math vocabulary cards that includes the vocabulary word, visual and definition. These cards are also available in multiple languages to support our MLL students. This would be great to incorporate into your math units and add to a math word wall to support the language around math.
**Click Dual Immersion cards to change the language.
