December Drill
Thank you to all staff for making our evacuation/relocate drill successful!
Evacuate/Fire Drill: December 19th (Time TBA)
Please practice these drills with your students and have them become familiar with the language
2023 District Safety Slides Slide 30 has videos of these drills for you to share with your students
All specialist teachers, MLL, SPED, Improvement teachers, SEL, WIN groups... practice drills with your groups of students so that in the event of a real emergency or drill during your time-students will know what to do
General Education Teachers and Nurses will all have access to view the IEP at a Glance for every child with an IEP through PowerSchool.
By clicking on the CT SEDS Icon (shape of the State,) the document will appear. Jean Starkman is providing access to everyone by hand so if a member of your team indicates that their access is denied, let them know it will be available soon.
Staff, please be mindful of your dismissal duties:
Do not send students to their dismissal location without an adult
Be on time to your dismissal location
Actively monitor the students in your dismissal location (adult conversations should not interfere with actively monitoring student behavior during dismissal time)
****Make sure to clearly add your dismissal duties to your sub plans*****
Review on PRINT Days:
Cub Ambassadors will be on hand and assigned to classrooms on PRINT Days. They can assist In taking lunch count, working with students who don't have a parent/adult with them and even ensuring that those students make It from one room to the next. They will also be on hand to help our K/1 students unpack quickly so that everyone can get to the activity.
If you have any ideas or needs for our Cub Ambassadors, please let myself or Mr. Riddell know. Peer mentor relationships, reading buddies, help in the morning with jobs, are all things we can coordinate; we want our Cub Ambassadors to have a different purpose this year and would love for them to become more embedded In the school day!
