Practice these drills with your students and have them become familiar with the language
All specialist teachers, MLL, SPED, Improvement teachers, SEL, WIN groups... practice drills with your groups of students so that in the event of a real emergency or drill during your time-students will know what to do

"Teacher Mid-year Self-assessment" form on Frontline (there are 4 questions) should be completed before the meeting on 2/8/24 so that SLO progress can be discussed at the MOY meetings (This form is found under "Teacher Mid-Year Check-in" on Frontline)
Non-Certified staff, please schedule a time to meet with Lindsay and Cherie
Classroom teachers ensure that you have completed the DESSA for every student in your classroom by Friday 2/2/24

CONGRATS to Mrs. Mick and Mrs. Thorne for being selected for the Excellence in Education and Excellence in Educational Support award. They will be honored in May at the annual Excellence in Education event
We have Tracey Magnet Tours coming up on 2/5 (evening) and 2/7 and 2/14 in the morning (9:15am start). Nothing you need to do, just know a group of curious parents may pop their heads in!
We made State School of Character and we are on to National School of Character Evaluation process. I have been contacted by our national evaluator and our site visit will be at the end of February, early March. We are working to confirm dates. Once I have solidified lists of focus group participants, I will reach out to you with enough time to prepare and secure coverage (If needed). If you have students/parents chosen, I will reach out to them as well and will of course let you know - however your support to those students and parents In the process is of course welcome! <3
Our Promising Practice of Character Education Reports, has been chosen AGAIN to be "spotlit" in a smaller group on the Character.org website (well over 150 practices are awarded, a much smaller # get this feature!)
As we have been awarded State status, Communications Is looking to come in and do staff, student and parent interviews for a cool video feature - stay tuned and be camera ready ;) ;) <3
Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) Day Is 2/17...we will be celebrating the week of 2/12. Linked below are some great activities we have used over the years and some new ones (thank you Claire!) that can be Incorporated into your SEL time that week. RAK Is a national day to celebrate kindness, how we can pass It on, be intentional about it and make It a daily practice. It Is of course a great tie to the N and R In our PRINT. Join In on some different SEL activities to shake It up that week! Last year we had beautiful posters hung up across our hallways, Interactive bulletin boards - can't wait to see what you come up with this year!
2/14 Community Partner and Family lunch! Getting GREAT responses from all grade levels. 1st is taking the lead right now. There will be extra chairs on hand that day.

Progress Monitoring
You will find a copy of the data meeting decision report with the students who need progress monitoring in your mailbox based on our Continuum meeting. We need 3 data points completed for the measures that need to be progress monitored bi-weekly. Remember, the CORE phonics survey only needs to be done once before our next meeting. Here are some resources that were mentioned at our PD Monday during the Faculty Meeting on 5 Practices. We will be continuing this work on January 22nd with a planning session using the 5 Practices. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out!
