MAPS Assessments Begin This Week
Beginning the week of August 29th, all NISD middle schoolers will participate in their Beginning of Year (BOY) MAPS Assessments for math and English/Language Arts. Our district uses MAPS results to help monitor student progress and design targeted supports for students. Students will take their assessments in Math and ELA classes, and it is important for them to put forth their best effort.
Teachers are a great point of contact if you have questions about the assessments, and we are sharing "A Family Guide to MAP Growth" and a link for more information as well.

Did someone say challenge?? We have been challenged to a PTSA Membership competition by Adams Middle School. The losing school’s principal must wear the opposing school colors on the day of our rival football game in October! WAIT, WHAT? Mrs. Childress wearing Adams colors on PURPLE OUT Game Day?? NO WAY!!

Beyond Free and Reduced Lunch...
While school day meals are free this year for middle school students, alerting the district that you qualify for free and reduced meals also helps your student have access to other programs such as weekend food assistance (Snack Packs), Angel Tree, and other services! This is an annual qualification process. Click the video for how to submit your application.
Follow that Bus with the MyView tracking app (available on the iOS App Store and Google Play). If you are experiencing issues with the app, please make sure that you are using the updated code – NW2021. You may also need to uninstall and reinstall the app with the code NW2021
